• WWE Planning To Use Virtual Fans At SummerSlam
WWE has been holding events without fans for several months now. WrestleMania 36 took place without an audience at the Performance Center in April, and the second biggest event of the year, SummerSlam, will also take place without fans, possibly at the Amway Center.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE has now started looking into the possibility of using virtual fans at future events, as all of their attempts to bring back fans to their events over the past couple of months have failed.
The company was very hopeful to have fans at SummerSlam, but they weren’t successful in their attempt.
“PWInsider can also confirm that WWE is, for the first time, toying with using virtual fans as a possibility for future broadcasts, including SummerSlam. WWE broadcast partner FOX has been using virtual fans for their Major League Baseball broadcasts.”
FOX Sports has been using virtual fans at MLB games, which you can check out below.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 13, 2018) – WCW Veteran Passed Away
On this day in 2018, we lost Old School WCW Veteran Doc Dean (Real name: Ian Dean) at the age of 48 due to a heart attack.
Doc Dean used to be a famous wrestler in England (UK, Europe) during the 80s & 90s, often teaming up with British wrestling legend Robbie Brookside, who is now a coach at the WWE Performance Center.
In 1997, after a successful NJPW tour, Doc Dean was signed to a contract by Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling promotion, but despite having high hopes, he ended up being used only as a ‘Jobber To The Stars’ for his entire WCW run.
In 1998, he left the company and retired from Wrestling all together.
Ian passed away in Florida, where he lived ever since he came over to the United States.
