Yet Another Update on Adam Cole’s AEW Return – AEW may soon be seeing the return of one of its top stars, as Adam Cole is reportedly on the mend after a long recovery from injury. Cole has been out of action since suffering a broken ankle during the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2023 special. The injury occurred when Cole was running to the ring during the World Title match between MJF and Samoa Joe. He jumped off the entrance ramp onto the floor and immediately began limping, signaling that something was seriously wrong.
This injury forced AEW to make significant changes to its storyline plans, especially involving the partnership between Cole and MJF. Originally, the two were slated to defend the ROH Tag Team Titles together. However, Cole’s injury left MJF to defend the titles solo. In a dramatic turn of events, Cole was later revealed as The Devil at Worlds End, where he attacked MJF after the latter lost the World Heavyweight Title. MJF eventually got his payback at Double or Nothing by taking out his former tag team partner.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there’s growing optimism within AEW about Cole’s return, with backstage sources noting that plans are already being put into place for his comeback.
“they’re hopeful and even expecting to get Adam Cole back sooner than later, and that wheels have already been put in motion to prepare for that on-screen.”
Cole was reportedly in good spirits when spotted at All Out and during a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, and by late August, he was expected to resume in-ring training. Fans and those within AEW are hopeful that Cole will be back in action sooner rather than later, with his return shaping up to be a significant moment for the company.
