WWE’s Big E Comments On Vince McMahon Netflix Documentary, Reveals Whether He’ll Watch

WWE NXT Champ Ethan Page Details First Conversation With Shawn Michaels

WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page is on top of the world, at least in “WWE NXT.” The former AEW star became champion just 40 days after debuting on the brand, and “All Ego” is not taking it lightly.

Page has opened up about the discussion he had with “NXT” creative head Shawn Michaels before debuting on the developmental brand.

“I’m on a really good run right now. Imagine, your whole life, you have this vision of what your potential can be, no one sees the same vision as you, and then magically the greatest wrestler of all time [Shawn Michaels] has the same vision as you and says, ‘Yeah, I’ll let you do that,'” Page gushed “Insight” and Chris Van Vliet. “The boyhood dream, dude.”

He then revealed his initial conversation with “The Heartbreak Kid,” and the opportunities he was promised by the WWE legend.

“Essentially it was like, ‘Hey, I don’t know everything about you, but you seem like a guy who’s never been given a fair shot, so I’m gonna give it to you,'” Page remembered. The NXT Champion still doesn’t know what Michaels saw in him but will not question the WWE Hall of Famer. “I’ve been in the game so long that someone looking me in the eyes and being like, ‘I’m going to give you this chance. So, like what you wanted to accomplish, you can try it right now.'”

The former AEW star added that the experience in WWE has been “weird” as he hasn’t been previously offered so much help to get better.

“This whole thing has been extremely weird, and then to get the guidance of Matt Bloom and Terry Taylor and Fit Finlay — any of these guys that I want to pick something from or ask them questions … they’re just willing to help you out. that’s not something I’ve ever experienced,” Page said.

Page says the environment in “NXT” has helped make him better in the short time he’s been there.

Bully Ray Explains How He’d Have Booked AEW’s Bryan Danielson Vs. Nigel McGuinness

Last week’s episode of “AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam” opened with the long-awaited rekindling of Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness, albeit with a slight delay. Namely, when Danielson failed to appear after his entrance music hit, McGuinness ordered the referee to begin counting him out. Much to McGuinness’ dismay, Danielson finally emerged to the tune of “The Final Countdown” at the referee’s count of six. On a recent edition of “Busted Open After Dark,” WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray explained how he would have booked the build-up to this match completely differently.

Firstly, Ray would have McGuinness demand that the referee award him the victory via count-out or forfeit since Danielson did not make it down to the ring for their match. From there, Ray envisions an authority figure, such as Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels or AEW President Tony Khan, extending Danielson some leeway by declaring that the Danielson-McGuinness faceoff be moved to the closing segment of the show instead.

“Is Danielson going to make it? That’s the story throughout the show,” Ray said. “Is Danielson going to be able to make it to the match with Nigel?”

In Ray’s vision, fans would not have seen Danielson for the first hour of the “Dynamite” broadcast. Later in a backstage segment with the AEW medical team, though, fans would have gotten a tease when doctors told an off-camera Danielson that they couldn’t clear him at that moment in time. “You never see Danielson, but you know damn well who the doctors are talking to because there’s only one guy on the show that needs to be cleared that night,” Ray said.

Once the main-event mark hit, and Danielson has again yet to appear, Ray wanted McGuinness to order the referee, also yet again, to ring the bell and begin counting Danielson out. When the referee counts up to nine, “The Final Countdown” then plays, with Danielson finally ready to wrestle.

AJ Styles Makes In-Ring Return at WWE Live Event

AJ Styles Makes In-Ring Return at WWE Live Event – AJ Styles has officially made his highly anticipated return to the ring, sending shockwaves through the WWE Universe. “The Phenomenal One” stepped back into action during WWE’s live event in Columbus, Georgia, on September 28, 2024.

The main event saw Styles challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a thrilling encounter. Despite putting on an impressive performance, Styles was unable to dethrone Rhodes, who retained his championship in front of an excited crowd.

This return marks Styles’ first WWE match since his loss to Rhodes at Clash at the Castle in June 2024. While Styles has remained active at non-WWE events, including a match in Pro Wrestling NOAH earlier this year, he’s been notably absent from WWE programming.

Looking ahead, Styles is scheduled to officially return to WWE television on the October 4 episode of SmackDown. Fans are buzzing with speculation about what’s next for the former WWE Champion, especially with reports suggesting that his contract is set to expire either later this year or in early 2025. Despite being healthy and ready for action, Styles has been waiting for the right creative direction before returning to TV.

Now that Styles is back, all eyes are on WWE to see how they will utilize one of their most celebrated performers as he re-enters the mix. Will Styles find himself back in the title picture, or will he take a different path as his contract winds down? One thing is for sure—his return to SmackDown next week is guaranteed to bring excitement.

Liv Morgan Comments on WWE Cutting Back on Live Events

Liv Morgan Comments on WWE Cutting Back on Live Events

Liv Morgan Comments on WWE Cutting Back on Live Events – WWE will make big changes to its live event schedule in 2025, as previously confirmed by TKO President Mark Shapiro.

A lot has changed in WWE since the company was acquired by the Endeavor Group and merged with the UFC to form TKO. WWE runs house shows, aka live events, to connect with fans in local markets, give wrestlers more experience, and plan future televised matches. Thanks to guaranteed TV rights deals, the days of WWE making the majority of its money based on the gate are over.

At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference, the top executive confirmed that they plan to cut back on house shows because house shows are “marginally profitable.” Shapiro said WWE went from running 300 events in 2023 to 250 in 2024. The plan for next year is to cut back to “close to 200” while increasing company profits.

Speaking to the New York Post, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan spoke about WWE reducing live events.

“I’m sad to see them kind of go a little bit because the house shows are so much fun and it’s so so much more intimate. House shows are truly for the love of the game.” She sadded, “I’m sad to see that go for the newer guys and girls coming in who aren’t going to be able to have that experience and have that reps at live events under that belt but it is what is. Time home is always nice.”

Morgan will defend her title against Rhea Ripley at next Saturday’s Bad Blood PLE.
