Saraya Signs New One-Year Deal with AEW – According to a report from Fightful, Saraya has signed a new one-year deal with AEW, extending her stay with the promotion until September 2025. While AEW originally had an option to extend her contract, this new agreement seems to be a separate deal, ensuring Saraya’s continued presence in AEW for at least another year.
Saraya, who gained fame as Paige during her WWE tenure, made her AEW debut in September 2022 at the Grand Slam event after her WWE contract expired in July of that year. She returned to in-ring competition just two months later at Full Gear, securing a victory against Britt Baker in what marked her first match in nearly five years. Her previous absence was due to a serious neck injury sustained in WWE, which many believed had ended her wrestling career.
Despite being out of action for nearly half a decade, Saraya remained active throughout 2023, wrestling more than once a month. Her most notable achievement came at AEW’s first All In event at Wembley Stadium in London, where she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way match. The victory was especially significant for the England native, but her reign was short-lived, lasting under two months before she lost the title to Hikaru Shida.
Looking ahead, Saraya is scheduled for a high-stakes match on the Grand Slam edition of AEW Collision, which was taped on Wednesday in Queens, New York. She will face Jamie Hayter in a Saraya’s Rules match, adding an extra layer of personal stakes to the bout.
Adding to the family’s AEW ties, Saraya’s brother, Zak, also signed with the company earlier this year. However, his AEW appearances have been limited, with only five matches under his belt, four of which were dark matches.
Saraya’s renewed contract signals her ongoing commitment to AEW, and fans are eager to see what the next year holds for her in the promotion.
