Swerve Strickland has dropped a major tease that AEW is heading to FOX.
Over the last few weeks, a new television deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery has been considered a “done deal.” AEW has been rumored to be in talks with FOX for a deal that would see a one-hour show named Shockwave.
AEW previously filed a trademark for the name, with the rumor being that it would air on FS1. An announcement for the deal with WBD is expected to be made any day now.
Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men podcast has reported that AEW pay-per-view events will stream on WBD’s streaming service MAX beginning in January and possibly even sooner. It also looks like the FOX deal will be announced soon.
While interviewing the QUEENZFLIPl, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland said AEW would be on FOX after WWE SmackDown left the network.
Strickland said, “We’re about to move. We’re about to get on Fox because SmackDown is leaving FOX. And then we’re taking FOX…TNT, TBS, and FOX. We got all three of them things. And Tony Khan lets me do whatever the f**k I want. He owns the Jacksonville Jaguars.”
