• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (July 17, 1988) – Old School Wrestling Legend Passed Away
On this day in 1988, we lost Old School Wrestling Legend Bruiser Brody (Real name: Frank Goodish) at the age of 42 after he was stabbed a day earlier.
Bruiser Brody wrestled for various promotions during the 70s & 80s, such as World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), the American Wrestling Association (AWA), the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), All Japan Pro Wrestling and many more.
Historians and fans all agree that he was basically “Hardcore” before there even was any real “Hardcore Wrestling”.
His death unfortunately overshadowed his great career, when he was murdered by Invader 1 (Real name: José Huertas González) in a World Wrestling Council dressing room in 1988.
Brody was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 as part of their annual Legacy Wing inductions.
† REST IN PEACE BRUISER BRODY!

• WWE Officials Planning To Bring A Change To The Miz’s Character
As seen on this week’s RAW, Dolph Ziggler appeared on MizTV and talked about Miz’s character having no direction on RAW.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, this segment won’t result in a Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz match at SummerSlam 2019 and it was done to bring a change to Miz’s character.
Below is what Meltzer said:
“[Miz] was supposed to be one of the main guys, like main babyfaces on RAW right near the top and then they just kept using him to get other people over and then all of a sudden he’s not over at that level.
So, now they’re trying to erase it or just get him going and they need to do it by saying, ‘OK, yeah he wasn’t serious enough — now we’ve got a new guy and now he’s serious, so.’ This is step one on that.”
